Acquiline training offered Feb. 17
Acquiline/PRWeb training is scheduled for Feb. 17. Classes will be held at the Directorate of Information Management (DOIM) Building 1978, in the Computer Classroom.
There will be two classes: 7:30-10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Employees need to attend only one of the sessions.

Safety office provides HAZCOM training
The Installation Safety Office will be offering hazard communication (HAZCOM) training 9-11 a.m. Feb. 12 in Building 4432, Training Room 122.
HAZCOM applies to everyone in the workplace. The most common chemicals can pose a danger to one's health and well being.

JAG hosts dining-in at Fort Myer Friday
The officers of The Judge Advocate General's Corps will conduct a regimental dining-in at the Fort Myer Officer's Club Friday. Cocktails begin at 7 p.m.
All commissioned and warrant officers and civilian attorneys of the Corps (regular, reserve and retired) are invited.
Military uniform will be the Blue or White Mess Uniform with black bow tie or necktab, or service equivalent. Civilian dress is black tie.
The U.S. Army Choir will provide entertainment.

Travel pay services provides voice response
Travel Pay Services now offers the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS).
IVRS provides travelers the automated status of their travel vouchers 24/7 by calling the toll free 888-332-7366 or DSN 699-0300 and entering their social security number and myPay pin.
All travel claims received within the last 90 days will be identified. Automated information includes travel order dates, the dollar amount paid to traveler and Bank of America and paying field site.
IVRS prompts direct the traveler to myPay (to establish and account or verify pin number) or to their respective travel office to speak to a customer representative.

Navy family center holds open house
The Navy Fleet and Family Support Center will hold an open house 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, in its new location at Snowden Hall, Building 2257, Huber Road on the second floor.
The Fort Meade community is invited to stop by to see the new center and learn about planned renovations, upcoming programs and services, and to share in refreshments and door prizes. Families are welcome.

Attic holds grand opening in historic firehouse
The Fort Meade Attic will hold a grand opening ceremony 10 a.m. Feb. 19 at the Installation Volunteer Office (historic firehouse), Building 4230, off Rock Avenue.
Army Community Service's Installation Volunteer Office Fort Meade Attic provides free household items to military members of all services, E-5 and below, their family members and other members of the Fort Meade community experiencing financial hardship.
The Attic accepts donations of gently used items during business hours, which are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Tax center open through April 15 at Snowden Hall
The Fort Meade Tax Center opens Monday through April 15 for tax assistance and electronic filing.
The Tax Center is a free service available to all active duty personnel, retirees and dependents in the Fort Meade area.
The office is staffed by volunteer service members and operates under the IRS Volunteer Information Tax Assistance program.
Appointments can be made through your Unit Tax Advisor or by calling the Tax Center at 677-9762.
Personnel not in uniform will be required to show a military ID card.
Customers should bring Social Security Cards, all income documents, such as W-2 Forms, banking direct deposit accounting and routing numbers, documents substantiating tax credits, and any other documents pertaining to their tax situation.
The Tax Office is located in the rear basement (Wing A) Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, Snowden Hall, Building 2257, Huber Road, near the vicinity of Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center. Parking is available behind Snowden Hall.
Black History Month lunches held Wednesdays
The Black History Month brown bag lunch series is held Wednesdays at noon through Feb. 25 at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) conference room.
Bring a lunch and enjoy a video profiling some of the world's most important people past and present and how they impacted American history.
Programs last 60 minutes and include the following:
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: The Man and the Dream; Skin Deep: The Fight Against Racism; America's Black Warriors: Two Wars to Win; Cinque: Freedom Fighter; and Colin Powell: A Soldier's Campaign.
The lunches are open to all military and civilian employees. Advance registration is required by calling Shirley Alexander at 677-6295.
The EPA is located at 701 Mapes road.
The lunch series is sponsored by the Fort Meade Black Employment Program committee.
National Prayer Breakfast Feb. 27 at Club Meade
Fort Meade will host a National Prayer Breakfast 6:30-8 a.m. Feb. 27 at Club Meade.
The guest speaker will be Rear Adm. Louis V. Iasiello, chief of Navy chaplains.
The National Prayer Breakfast is a time-honored tradition in which we express our gratitude for the freedoms we cherish.
All commanders and supervisors are encouraged to allow their subordinates to attend this meaningful event.
Seating is limited to 350 people. There is a suggested donation of $5 per ticket for E-6 and above.
Tickets are now available through unit chaplains and the Installation Chaplain's Office at 677-6703.
